Post Act I farm
So since Blizz screwed up the drop rates of gear in acts II, III and IV Act I has become the best place to farm, so how fast are people clearing butcher+festering wood?

I joined Hangen earlier tonight but he cried when i skipped all the normal packs because apparently he dies.

I decided to test whether it was better to clear all areas looking for champ packs or just straight rush the bosses.

Fully clearing Festering + halls of agony 1,2 and 3 gave me an Amazing 8 rares and took 30mins.

My second clear just went straight for the 2 champ packs in festering and then rushed to warden and butcher, and got 12 rares (random is random) and took 20 minutes.

Can't really draw any conclusions from 2 runs obviously, but it was generally more fun to steam through the mobs rather than clearing maps anyway, plus as Hangen discovered i can run around with a big train of mobs, ignoring them all and just focussing champs.

So how fast can you clear? I'm sure anybody with decent dps will crush me.

Usually I have a cigarette in one hand, a coffee in the other, and I also scratching my balls with the third.

You need to run to get healed.
I need to stop and hit staff.

When you are joining others games, at lest don't be a dick and pull bosses and elite packs without the others even be on the same map. When you are joining my game you are playing with my rules and with my pace. If you don't like it, gtfo and go play solo or with someone else. I have no desire to continuously run behind you, trying to catch you, so please don't join my game again, or at least ASK.

You didn't even answer my question, you just moaned some more.

I'm to used to joining Olimars death runs. In the future if i join you i'll go at your cigarette ball scratching pace.

Although tbh act I clears are a tad boring, i'd like to progress through act III but can't kill ghom, i have no where near the dps required.

Hmm, similar rate to me. Considering only 2% of those will be level 63 it means about 1 level 63 item every 1.5 hours.....teh suck.

The ilvl of the item, in act I you have a 2% chance to find a lvl63 rare.

In act II its meant to be 4% and act 3&4 8%, but apparently the later acts are bugged.

Of course the chance of one of those items actually tolling decent stats is pretty rare.

Eh? I seem to be getting loads more ilvl 61-63 yellows from Kull + Belial runs.

Will do an archon run later and see how it fares.

Quote:
The drop rates in 1.0.3 are exactly as they're listed in the 1.0.3 design preview blog, so there were no issues as far as validity/accuracy of the changes. Obviously a reduction in drop rates later on in favor or increased drop rates earlier on (and overall more high end items circulating in the economy) wasn't very popular. We agree it was a bad change, so we'll be correcting it, but it wasn't a quick enough change to get into 1.0.3a.

New drop rates for 1.0.3
Item Hell Act III/IV Inferno Act I Inferno Act II Inferno Act III/IV
iLvl 61 9 % 18% 19% 24%
iLvl 62 2% 8% 12% 16%
iLvl 63 0% 2% 4% 8%

Blizzard claim the table is correct, so perhaps its just the fact that the rate at which you can kill mobs in act 1 is far greater than that of act3 mobs.
